Davilkus Games provides "Exit the Backrooms: Online" across multiple platforms (Android, iOS, Steam, Web, and itch.io). This Service is intended for use "as is".

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you play our multiplayer game. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

When you play Exit the Backrooms: Online, we collect specific data to provide a seamless multiplayer experience. This includes:

  • Device & Network Data: IP Address, precise device specifications, operating system, and internal identifiers.
  • Location Data: General coarse location (City and Country level) to optimize server connections.
  • In-Game Data: Purchase history, diagnostics, bug reports, and in-game actions/progress (which are backed up via Cloud Saves).
  • User-Generated Content: Chat message history, profile pictures, user-created Lua mods, and public leaderboard scores.

2. Accounts and Authentication

The game offers multiple ways to play. You can play anonymously as a Guest, create an internal account (using only a username and password—no email required), or log in via third-party providers (Google Play Games, Apple Game Center, Steamworks).

Accounts can be linked across platforms. All authentication data is heavily encrypted. We do not store your external account credentials; we only receive an authorized token to link your progress.

3. Multiplayer, Chat, and Age Gate

Because this is a multiplayer game, you may interact with other players through our friend system, block system, voice chat, and text chat.

  • Age Verification: Upon launching the game, you are asked to provide your age. If you are under the required age, all chat features are automatically disabled to protect minors.
  • Chat & Moderation: Text chat includes censorship filters, and message history is logged to enforce community guidelines. Both voice and text chat can be disabled manually in the settings.

4. Advertising and In-App Purchases

Our game features standard in-app purchases (processed securely through Google Play, Apple App Store, or Steam). We do not use "gacha" or randomized loot box mechanics. We only retain a record of your purchase history to grant you items; we never process or store your credit card information.

We also display advertisements. To measure performance and provide relevant ads, we collect your Advertising IDs (AAID/IDFA). We use CAS.AI as an ad mediation platform, which routes requests to partners including AdMob, AppLovin, UnityAds, and Yandex Ads.

5. Analytics and Crashlytics

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to monitor game stability. If the game crashes, we collect an automated report containing your device's state and stack traces. This data is strictly used to fix bugs and improve performance.

6. Data Security and Retention

All network traffic and stored data are encrypted. Because multiplayer progress, friend lists, and leaderboards are persistent, your user profile and associated data are retained indefinitely as long as your account exists.

7. Managing and Deleting Your Data

You have full control over your data. You may request data modification or deletion in the following ways:

  • Full Account Deletion (In-Game): You can press the "Delete Account" button in the game settings. This places your account in a 7-day deletion queue. If you do not cancel the request within 7 days, your account and all associated data will be permanently wiped.
  • Full Account Deletion (Email): You can email us directly to request manual deletion of your internal account.
  • Partial Data Removal: If you wish to keep your account but want specific data removed (e.g., clearing your chat history or specific internal logs), you can request this by contacting our support team.

8. Children’s Privacy

This game is not directed at children under the age of 13. Through our initial age-gate, we disable social features for minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with restricted personal data, please contact us so we can delete it immediately.
